Buttes Chaumont Paris
Take to the skies

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

The Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is the steepest and largest garden in Paris. A masterpiece of landscape art under Napoleon III, it was inaugurated on the occasion of the Paris Universal Exhibition. In the middle of its lake, a rocky island rises up, with the romantic temple of the Sybil at its summit. The park is home to exotic and indigenous tree species, including an impressive Oriental plane tree planted in 1862.

Park in Paris - Canal Saint Martin
Travel back in time

Canal Saint-Martin

With its century-old chestnut trees, locks, swing bridges, lively banks and pedestrian walkways, the Canal Saint-Martin has it all. Located in the center of Paris, it's a popular spot for city dwellers when the weather's nice.
Are you there in summer? The Canal Saint-Martin is linked to Paris Plage. On the program: beaches, water sports (pedalos, canoes), guinguettes, balls, cultural, festive and gastronomic cruises... You can even swim in the canal, in an area divided into three pools. Don't forget your swimsuits!

Park in Paris - Quais de Seine
Take a stroll

The banks of the Seine

Since the time of the Parisii (a Gallic people settled in the region), the city has developed around the river. Simply stroll along the quays to discover the architectural treasures along the Seine. On foot or by bike, you'll enjoy a journey back in time along these UNESCO World Heritage-listed banks. Quai Saint-Bernard and Ile Saint-Louis spring to mind, as does the Parc Rives de Seine. On the left bank, this park extends over 10 hectares from the Pont de l'Alma to the Pont des Arts. On the right bank, it runs from the Pont Neuf to the Port de l'Arsenal. Still on the banks of the Seine, you can visit the Quai de la Mégisserie: on the street side, you'll find flower and pet stores. On the Seine side, booksellers offer their books in their typical stalls.
